Overview:  This role will be responsible for managing Pythian’s compliance program and a team of compliance specialists charged with delivering our program. Pythian’s compliance program consists of a series of independent audits of our technology operations as well as our internal audit initiatives.  We are focused on the SOC2 audit standard, but plan to expand the program into other industry specific compliance standards such as PCI and CSA STAR.

This role will manage the engagement scope and timely delivery of our independent audit reports along with the relationship with our audit partners.  Working with your team to maintain Pythian’s compliance controls and improve their standardization will help streamline future audits.

This role will also require business partnerships to gather new audit requirements but also drive compliance with existing audit controls.  Helping technical teams develop auditable processes, identify standardized tools for evidence and improve control automation are all keys to succeeding in this role at Pythian.

Building of a small but effective internal audit program, the Compliance Manager will need to identify high risk controls and focus our efforts in these areas.  


  • Manage the day to day aspects of Pythian’s compliance program;
  • Provide leadership, assignments and monitor performance of the compliance team members;
  • Monitor Pythian’s control set and develop action plans for control failures;
  • Develop internal audit plans to monitor high risk controls;
  • Develop and maintain an audit calendar to track time sensitive activities;
  • Develop, measure and report on the Compliance scorecard
  • Schedule independent audit schedules, coordinate fieldwork and engage necessary Pythian team members required for fieldwork;
  • Gather business requirements and determine new audit or compliance standards to be included in the compliance program;
  • Drive Pythian’s teams towards standardized, auditable processes to ease our compliance burden;
  • Focus our team on automating controls when possible;
  • Deliver compliance status reports and metrics to Pythian management teams;


  • A minimum of 5 - 7 years experience in technology audit and compliance
  • Completed post-secondary education (Bachelor’s or College - levels degree/diploma)
  • Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) Certification is considered an asset
  • Proven experience successfully managing projects is considered an asset
  • Extreme detail-oriented approach with strong analytical and problem solving abilities
  • Strong Organization and documentation skills
  • Experience working both independently and in a collaborative environment.
  • Experience with tools such as Jira is considered an asset
